Lazy cow
This project introduced a process-led approach to design, requiring the development of a product from a predetermined selection of everyday objects: doorstop, fruit bowl, vase, dibber, pillow, poker, grinder or slipper. I selected the doorstop as the basis for my project, exploring how its functional form could be reinterpreted through an animal-inspired design language. This led to the development of a doorstop inspired by the form and character of a cow. The choice of subject was informed by the significance of dairy production in Poland, creating a personal connection between the product and my cultural background. This allowed me to introduce narrative and identity into an otherwise functional household object, while maintaining its practical purpose as a doorstop.
